Rebecca Shorthouse

Senior Consultant

Rebecca is the OE specialist in organizational research.  This is a critical role within the business as it directly supports the Growth Proposition by providing clients with real information about positive change linked to the OE work to enable and accelerate growth.  She also engages in business directed research to inform changing and developing strategy, and tactical focus.

Rebecca’s background and experience enables her to do this work highly effectively, through the combination of an economics degree and career in Ernst & Young, linked to the social science rigour and psychological understanding of the psychologist team within OE.  Prior to joining the team, Rebecca was the Finance Director of a Communication Company (PBS), during which time she developed an active interest in measuring the ROI of business interventions.

Having graduated from the University of Birmingham, in Economics, Rebecca’s career began at Ernst & Young as a trainee Chartered Accountant. Once qualified, she worked for accountancy firms specialising in both corporate finance and taxation services. A subsequent appointment as Finance Director of PBS incorporated a period of concentrated work in strategy development, financing and an introduction to the impact of business psychology interventions.  She has also worked within the management consultancy sector, delivering coaching and facilitation assignments.

Rebecca’s business interests are not wholly involved with OE.  In her spare time she has set up two businesses, one in the child care sector and the other in the construction industry.  She is a Director of both and has overview responsibility for branding, marketing and financing.  Rebecca is an active member of the NSPCC.  From which perspective, and in a broader sense, she acts as a voice within OE for social and environmental responsibility.

Clients for whom Rebecca is currently working, in a research context, include:
Ceridian, HBOS, Mace, Toyota, Unipart and Whittington Group.
